A little doggo who had lost her hair because of mange, a skin disease brought about by mites that often affects canines, has undergone an incredible transformation after receiving the appropriate care and attention.
Jessie DeFreitas, a veterinary assistant residing in Crawley, West Sussex, developed affection for a scrappy little puppy named Terra, despite its severe skin condition that had led to the loss of all its fur. The 21-year-old’s love and dedication nursed the poor dog back to health, making it look like an Instagram model dog. According to Jessie, the little puppy was brought in by negligent owners who did not take care of its condition. Upon spotting the cute puppy, Jessie requested to foster the dog as she is known for her love for animals, despite already having four cats and another rescue dog back at home. The vet warned that the dog would not survive without constant care, and Jessie’s mother questioned her decision to foster the dog, but Jessie’s love for animals kept her motivated.
In August of 2019, Jessie welcomed Terra into her home. Within a mere three months, Terra’s disposition transformed from hostile and prone to biting to one of kindness and gentleness. As an avid animal enthusiast, Jessie fell head over heels in love with Terra from the very beginning. However, when they first brought her home, Terra was an energetic and playful biter. The name she had been given, Honey, did not quite suit her personality. In Jessie’s opinion, “Honey” connotes sweetness, which Terra was not exhibiting at the time.
Jessie shared that her mother named their adorable puppy Terra with an “a” because it perfectly suited her playful nature, often causing a bit of chaos. Terra has fully healed from her previous condition of mange and is now an energetic and lively pup. You can tell from her eyes that she’s much happier now and continues to become more so every day. Jessie gushed about how amazing and affectionate Terra is, describing her as the kindest and sweetest creature.
