We absolutely adore JLo as a bride, whether she’s wearing a sleek sheath or a lavish ball gown – she always steals the show!
Jennifer Lopez has cemented herself as the ultimate bridal icon in Hollywood. If there were a lifetime achievement award for the celebrity who has revolutionized onscreen wedding fashion, it would undoubtedly belong to her (and presented by none other than Sarah Jessica Parker, who deserves recognition for her remarkable wedding gown upcycling). From her breakout role in the 1997 film “Selena” to her most recent project “Shotgun Wedding” in 2022, the 54-year-old superstar has showcased a diverse range of bridal looks, from elegant lace ensembles to extravagant ball gowns.
Taking her bridal expertise beyond the silver screen, Jennifer Lopez delighted fans on Wednesday with the release of her latest single “Can’t Get Enough” and an accompanying music video. In this video, she continues her bridal theme by “marrying” a series of grooms while donning two stunning gowns. The first is a daring white creation by FROLOV, featuring striking heart-shaped cutouts that showcase her toned abs and upper thighs. The second gown is a shorter, strapless design adorned with a cluster of vibrant red roses at the waist. With this latest endeavor, Jennifer Lopez’s onscreen bridal gown count reaches an impressive total of 10 (and it’s clear that she shows no signs of slowing down).
To honor her incredible 26-year dedication to onscreen bridal fashion, we have selected our four favorite fictional “JLo the Bride” looks:
1. “The Wedding Planner” (2001)

“I’ve spent the past ten years as a style editor at PEOPLE, so you can say I know a thing or two about JLo’s wedding dress collection. It’s safe to say that her wedding to Ben Affleck in Georgia in August 2022 was a true bridal fashion fairytale, thanks to Ralph Lauren. However, there is one specific bridal look of JLo’s that I simply can’t get out of my head: her courthouse outfit in the movie ‘The Wedding Planner.’ It was refreshingly simple, a departure from her typical JLo style, with a clean silhouette, minimal makeup, and a retro headpiece. This movie holds a special nostalgic place for me, as I remember watching it with my friends in eighth grade after a fun shopping trip at the mall. We even managed to sneak in Auntie Anne’s pretzels into the theater! I’m convinced that Meghan Markle had this dress on her bridal vision board, and I can’t help but think that Mary Fiore should have ended up with Massimo.”

2. “Marry Me,” Released in 2022″
Confession: I haven’t had the chance to watch this movie yet, but if given the opportunity, I would definitely pick it for a cozy Netflix night. The main reason for my interest lies in the magnificent bridal gown worn by JLo, designed by the talented Zuhair Murad Couture. This strapless masterpiece, weighing a jaw-dropping 95 pounds (equivalent to a golden retriever’s weight), would be a sight to behold. It took a team of five people to carefully transport this gown, which was crafted from a combination of luxurious materials like silk taffeta, horsehair, and tulle. Adorned with dazzling crystals, silver ruffles, intricate embroidery, and delicate lace, it exudes a glamorous and radiant aura. Not only that, but the veil is also beautifully embellished with crystals and sequins. To sum it up, envision a wedding dress that embodies the vibrant atmosphere of a Stefon nightclub.
Lopez completely nailed her retro wedding aesthetic in the 2006 movie. The intricate lace embellishments on her empire waist dress, the elegant knee-length veil, and the mesmerizing blue eye shadow all contributed to her flawless bridal look. It’s worth mentioning that her on-screen chemistry with her then-husband, Marc Anthony, added an extra radiance to their characters, Héctor and Nilda ‘Puchi’ Lavoe, who were based on a real-life couple.
Jennifer Lopez took to Instagram to share her latest song, “Can’t Get Enough,” in which she croons, “When it feels right, nothing else matters.” While the lyrics allude to love, I can’t help but think of the sheer perfection of Lopez’s second wedding dress. With Derek Hough by her side, she effortlessly glides down the aisle in true Jenny from the Block fashion. It is no secret that Jennifer and dancing are a match made in heaven, and this strapless bustier style with its flowing skirt allows her to twirl and spin with ease. Not to mention, the dress earns extra points for its contemporary appeal with a touch of red, keeping up with the latest trends.
