There’s nothing quite as heartwarming as two individuals who have been affected by uncontrollable circumstances finding comfort in each other’s company.
Scarlette Tipton lost her left arm to cancer when she was only 10 months old. Her parents wanted her to have a companion that resembled her, so they decided to adopt a kitten. Doc, a rescue kitten who had undergone an amputation of her right paw due to a car accident, turned out to be the perfect match. The family went to a shelter on Christmas Eve and brought Doc home. The little kitten was immediately welcomed into the family and became Scarlette’s new friend.
According to Simone Tipton, the mother of Scarlett, the little girl noticed the staples on Doc’s side and expressed her concern by saying “owies.” In response, Simone explained to Scarlett that Doc had similar struggles like her and the little girl placed her hand on her side and nodded. It’s heartwarming to see how an innocent child recognizes the pain of an animal, which shows their innate compassion. Both Scarlett and Doc have endured tragedy, with Scarlett having to undergo an amputation of her left arm due to cancer.
Doc, a cute little kitten, unfortunately lost one of her paws when she sought refuge under a car’s hood to keep herself warm. Fortunately, the Tipton family saw her on TV on Christmas Eve and decided to take her in.
According to Scarlette’s mother, the little girl understands that the feline faces comparable challenges like herself.
