We couldn’t help but cry as we watched him in agony, with his body folded in half. It was difficult to understand the pain he had been through. For dog lovers like us, it’s hard to imagine why anyone would intentionally harm an innocent animal without any reason. Sadly, there are individuals in this world who are extremely cruel and act without logic. Spencer’s story is about the sad and abusive experiences he had to bear during his first year of life.
While wandering along the freeway in South Carolina, Spencer, a lovable Doberman, was unfortunately hit by a car. He was later discovered scavenging for dead animals on the roadside.
Luckily, Spencer received aid from compassionate people who took him to Paws & Claws in Columbia, South Carolina. The vet team was able to examine the injured parts of Spencer’s body and found out that he had a fractured back because of the car crash he had just experienced.
Upon observation, the employees of the establishment noticed that the canine had undergone an inadequately executed ear cropping, presumably performed in a non-professional setting. After conducting additional assessments through x-rays, it was discovered that there were jagged bird bones inside the dog’s stomach, which could have resulted in detrimental effects. In addition to this, the dog had lacerations on its limbs and cranium that called for medical intervention.
Spencer’s condition indicated that he had been a victim of abuse. He was discovered wandering aimlessly on the streets, but his luck changed when the VCA Animal Specialty Center in South Carolina stepped in to help him. The good news was that even though he was small, Spencer was going to recover fully. Although his spinal cord had suffered some damage, there was optimism that he could regain his ability to walk after undergoing surgery.
Fortunately, the operation on his spine was a success, and he was making progress in regaining his ability to walk. Moreover, the animal specialists discovered that the bones in his abdomen were starting to protrude on their own without any adverse effects. All indications were optimistic and pointing towards a favorable outcome.
The four-legged friend is presently in the process of rehabilitation with the help of compassionate staff and physical activities. His advancement is truly amazing! Initially requiring assistance to move around, he has swiftly gained autonomy and now walks on his own without any assistance. He has regained his energy and is just as lively as ever before. Moreover, he is youthful, happy, and free from any health issues. He cannot wait to live his life to the fullest.
