Petey, the lovable pup who captured the hearts of his rescuers with his heartwarming smile, has finally found a loving home after being ignored for far too long. The adorable dog was brought to the SPCA Wake in early October from a high-intake shelter in North Carolina, where he had been constantly overlooked by potential adopters. Despite being just a year old, Petey had already become the longest resident of the county shelter. But thanks to the SPCA of Wake County, Petey now has a chance at a better life with a loving family. Recently, the organization provided an update on Petey’s adoption status, and we couldn’t be happier for him.

SPCA Wake recently posted an image of a cute animal companion looking for a forever home. Luckily, a family stumbled upon the picture and felt an instant connection to the furry friend. They took him home and captured some precious moments of him snuggling with his new owners and playing with his new four-legged sibling. A snapshot showed Petey cozied up on a soft blanket, sporting a wide, contented smile.
