A concerned individual informed Kokkachi Shelter that a tiny dog was suffering from a wound around his stomach. The volunteers promptly investigated the area where the dog was spotted but didn’t have the necessary tools to catch him. They went back to the shelter to gather all the required supplies such as cloth, milk, and a bag. Upon returning to the location, they found that the dog had retreated back into his cave and had yet to come out. The team decided to leave a bowl of milk outside the cave and waited patiently for a few hours. Finally, the dog emerged from the cave which was blocked with wooden planks. The volunteers successfully caught the canine, wrapped it in a towel, and transported it to a veterinary institution in Calicut.
Capturing the dog proved to be a difficult task as he kept retreating back into the cave. The sheer size of the cave also added to the challenge of catching him. As luck would have it, it was a holiday and all veterinary clinics were closed. However, they eventually found a compassionate doctor named Dr. Shihabudheen who selflessly provided medical care for the dog free of charge. Once treated, the dog was taken to Kokkachi’s shelter where he quickly recovered and became an integral part of the shelter family. The staff immediately fell in love with him, captivated by his stunning eyes and lively energy.
The cute dog is doing very well now and loves spending time with its human friends, but it still needs a forever home to call its own.
