Manchester City are short on cover for superstar striker Erling Haaland

Manchester City is currently lacking backup options for their star striker Erling Haaland. Although Brendan Rodgers highly rates the player and considers him an ‘elite striker’, Celtic would be open to negotiations if City offered more than £20m. Kyogo, the Japanese international, has been a standout player for Celtic since joining the club in 2021. He has scored an impressive 73 goals in 135 games and has won seven major trophies with the team. Despite signing a new contract last summer, there is speculation about his potential departure. In the meantime, Rodgers has bolstered his attacking options with the signing of Adam Idah from Norwich for £8.5m. While Daizen Maeda impressed with a brace in a recent match, losing Kyogo would necessitate another striker signing. Kyogo missed the last game due to a recurring shoulder injury, which Rodgers mentioned may require surgery to fully resolve.

Celtic have secured former loan striker Adam Idan in a £8.5m deal from Norwich

Celtic has secured the signing of former loan striker Adam Idan in a deal worth £8.5 million from Norwich. Mateusz Bogusz has now emerged as a potential replacement for Matt O’Riley. Brighton is reportedly close to finalizing a bid of over £25 million to bring the Denmark international to the south coast. Bogusz, who currently plays for LAFC, has caught the attention of Celtic after scoring 13 goals from midfield in the MLS. It is believed that Celtic may need to pay over £7 million to secure the 22-year-old’s services. Bogusz began his career at Polish club Ruch Chorzow before moving to Leeds United in 2019. After a loan spell at Logrones and two years at Ibiza, he joined LAFC permanently last year. Additionally, Rodgers is rumored to be interested in Lausanne’s Alvyn Sanches and Augsburg’s Arne Engels as he prepares for the departure of O’Riley. On the other hand, defender Yuki Kobayashi, who has been frozen out, is set to make a permanent move to Portuguese side Portimonense.
