Meet King Miles, the adorable Bengal cat whose unique appearance sets him apart from other cats of his breed. His small and twisted ears give him a distinct look that is both charming and endearing. However, King Miles didn’t get these unusual ears through natural means. They were the result of an illness he had to endure.

The cat had been living inside a house before being found outside, but unfortunately, the owners could not be identified as the feline did not have a microchip. After spending just a few months outside, the cat fell ill due to various infections including SARS, stomach inflammation, skin problems and ear disease. This caused the cat to become lethargic and eat poorly, leaving the employees at Apple Valley Animal Shelter unsure if the cat would recover. The cat, known as King Miles, has had a difficult start to life on the streets.

Despite his health issues, the unfortunate man received help from kind-hearted people who took him into their home. With the assistance of veterinarians, they began to treat his illness. Unfortunately, it was difficult to determine how successful the treatment was as his condition fluctuated. While lab results appeared promising, his overall appearance and health were still in a precarious state. His fur fell out in patches and he was weak and stressed. Initially, he even hid under the bed, afraid to trust his new caretaker.

Despite the cat’s illness, the dedication of medical professionals and caring individuals led to its recovery after a period of 16 days. It was a remarkable sight to witness the pet regaining strength and returning to good health. Though the infection left the cat’s ears with a rounded shape, this serves as a distinguishing feature that adds to its charming purr.

Nonetheless, there are no traces left of the cat’s previous illness. His vigor, vitality, and love for play are apparent. His owners describe him as a jolly ball that bounces around ceaselessly. He loves to snuggle with them in bed, gazes outside at birds, and relishes every moment of his life!
