A feline family consisting of a mother cat and her four kittens were discovered by a Good Samaritan who was hired to clean a vacant home. The discovery was made in the basement of the house, where the cat mom and her babies were found in a laundry basket without access to food or water. Lori White, a volunteer at Alliance for Responsible Pet Ownership (ARPO), an Indiana-based animal rescue center, was notified about the situation and immediately took action. The house had been locked with a lockbox, leaving Lori to wonder how long the cats had been abandoned in the property.

A lady discovered a skinny and famished tabby cat with her four kittens inside a laundry basket in the basement of an uninhabited house. The kindhearted woman immediately knew that the felines required assistance and a secure place to nurture her babies. She took them home and provided the mother cat with food and a clean space to rest while she worked on finding a rescue center to take care of them. The grateful cat eagerly ate all the nourishing food given to her, inspected her new surroundings, and finally settled down to feed her ravenous offspring.

Goldie is an incredible mother to her high-maintenance kittens. All of her kittens were in excellent condition, well-groomed and in good health, indicating that Goldie had been providing them with exceptional care. When a concerned individual contacted their local animal shelter, ARPO swiftly came to the rescue. “The lady who found them left them with me, and I was grateful for her involvement in ensuring their safety,” Love Meow was told by Lori.

Upon arrival, the tabby feline exhibited a friendly demeanor. After exploring her new surroundings, she summoned her kittens for snack time, resulting in a delightful chorus of purrs and suckling sounds. A video of the adorable feline family can be viewed below. Lori was taken aback to find that all four kittens were female orange tabbies, prompting her to name them after characters from the Golden Girls, namely Rose, Sophia, Dorothy, Blanche, and Goldie (the mother). The rarity of having four female ginger cats (approximately 20%) made the naming decision even more fitting for this special group of felines.

Mama Goldie is chipless and unclaimed, but her family of five is flourishing without worrying about food security. The quadruplets are full of energy and mischief, with Dorothy being the most affectionate towards their human caregivers.

Lori White has shared that despite being five weeks old, the kittens are still very fond of nursing with their mother. The kittens’ mother, Goldie, does an excellent job of keeping her babies spotless and adorable with their round bellies. Lori also mentioned that Goldie is delighted to have a cozy home and loving individuals to assist her in looking after her lovely brood of four.
