As we grow older, there seems to be a certain wisdom that comes with age. This can often leave the rest of us wondering what our elders are thinking and doing. However, it’s important to remember that their experiences have likely taught them valuable lessons, and they will continue to learn. While life can surprise us in small ways, sometimes it’s just too astonishing not to share. Recently, on May 22nd, a family in Valrico, Florida had a most unexpected visitor – a wise old male cat who waltzed right into their home!
Upon entering the home of an avid cat rescuer, one would expect this senior cat to be quite perceptive. Andrea Budkis Christian is a foster parent for St. Francis Society Animal Rescue and her previous fosters are likely familiar to many. The question remains: did this intelligent elder cat realize that Andrea was the start of a fresh chapter in his life? And where did he come from exactly? Given her experience with felines in her area due to her TNVR efforts, this new addition to Andrea’s home seemed rather clever and unfamiliar.
The feline strolled into the nearby house with an air of familiarity, as if he had been there before. Despite being an elderly cat and appearing severely underweight, he showed no visible signs of physical injury. To be cautious, the homeowner made an appointment for him with her vet the following day to check for internal injuries. During the visit, they also planned to scan for a microchip to determine ownership if applicable.
During the chaotic period after Bob entered their lives, there was something they didn’t notice at first. Bob was actually deaf and couldn’t hear. Andrea shared a photo of Bob on the St. Francis foster page and he was quickly recognized by Tabatha Norton, the mother of Logan the Werewolf Cat. Tabatha had seen Bob before, but with so many cats and cat photos to look at every day, it was a surprise that she remembered him.
Tyrone’s luck finally turned around when he was rescued and quickly adopted the next day. However, it seems that his hearing issues were not addressed during the adoption process. Despite his health concerns, Tyrone is a lovable senior cat who has been neutered and tested negative for FeLV/FIV. He currently suffers from hair loss and rashes, as well as a heart murmur and severe dental problems. If you’re interested in giving him a forever home, please reach out to us as soon as possible.
Bob left the shelter with a new family, earning his name due to his skinny appearance. When the vet and Andrea discovered Bob’s microchip, they were hesitant to contact the owners since they had abandoned him before and never updated their information. However, they reached out to Bob’s new adoptive mother, who assured them that she did not throw him out.
It appears that Bob, a cat who was recently adopted from the Pet Resource Center, may be deaf and prone to wandering off. A kind-hearted woman had rescued him and given him a new home, but did not receive all the necessary information about his medical needs. As a result, Bob has not received the proper medical treatment he needs. Additionally, spending too much time outdoors is not recommended for a deaf cat like Bob.
Bob was lucky enough to have a brave and compassionate new mom who made a selfless decision to surrender him to St. Francis Society Animal Rescue. She wanted to ensure that he received the medical care he needed and found a secure home where he could live comfortably. Although it was a difficult choice, the young woman handed Bob over to the rescue organization with love and tears in her eyes. Fortunately, Bob will be placed with a remarkable foster family who has a special cat that everyone adores.
Logan, the Werewolf Cat, is currently residing in a foster home with another older male cat who was rescued from the streets. Recently, their landlord, Bob, paid them a visit along with some other little felines that Logan is keeping an eye on. However, our main focus is on helping Bob gain some weight as he is quite skinny. He is an affectionate and gentle cat who enjoys sitting by the window, observing the trees sway and birds fly. We are seeking individuals who are willing to provide him with a loving forever home. If you are interested, please contact [email protected]
Bob is one of those individuals who fate seems to bless during the toughest times in life. From what we can gather about his history, it appears that fate was overdue for him to receive some good fortune. Fortunately, Bob had the wisdom to choose the right path to enter through.
