A courageous husky stumbled upon a treasure trove of kittens while roaming the forest and decided to take them under her wing. Banner, who is a service dog, has proven that she is not only committed to aiding her owner Whitney Braley with her disability, but also has a natural ability to rescue and nurture other creatures.
Whitney has been the proud owner of a Husky since it was a little puppy, and she has trained her furry companion to assist not only herself but others as well in numerous ways. According to Whitney, Banner can sense PTSD episodes, anxiety attacks, headaches, provide guidance, retrieve medicines, disrupt self-harm, and much more.
“We have a deep love for kittens and often find ourselves rescuing them,” explained Banner. A couple of years ago, we found our first bottle baby cat abandoned in a ditch and raised her as our own. Since then, Banner has helped nurture over ten litters of kittens. However, the current situation is unique even for her.”
The discovery she made was truly heart-wrenching. In the woods, she stumbled upon a cardboard box that was sealed shut. Inside were seven tiny kittens, just a day old, shivering and on the brink of death from the cold. She immediately contacted Whitney and took her to the location where they found the box. Together, they carefully opened it and rescued each kitten individually.
Whitney shared with Metro that the kittens were probably abandoned in a cardboard box and left to die by someone who assumed they wouldn’t be discovered. Banner, who found them, noticed that the kittens were extremely cold and not making any noise. The situation disgusts Whitney, as they feel it’s cruel and heartless to abandon defenseless animals in such a manner.
Since Banner has been with the kittens, she has taken on a maternal role and treats them as her own. According to Whitney, who shared the story with Bored Panda, despite being spayed at 1.5 years old, Banner is very nurturing. Whitney plans to find loving homes for the kittens to prevent them from being euthanized at the local shelter, which only gives three days for adoption. To avoid this, Whitney often fosters young animals to ensure they have a chance at life.
I feel immense happiness that due to the efforts of Banner, these adorable kittens will soon find their forever homes filled with love and care.
