A cat that was once wandering outside in the chilly weather, seeking attention in a courtyard, is now cozy and craves human company all the time.
Starla from Little Wanderers NYC shared a recent rescue mission involving a stray cat that was found in a courtyard. The cat was hungry and desperate for help, but unfortunately, no one had come forward to claim her.
For nearly a week, she had been surviving in the area, finding shelter behind boxes and trash. Little Wanderers NYC described her as a beautiful white kitten who was cold and scared, unsure of where her next meal would come from.
The rescue team quickly contacted their volunteers in the hopes of finding a safe and loving home for the cat.

“It was only a matter of time before things took a turn for the worse for her. That evening, everything fell into place, and she was saved.”
At around 10 PM, an urgent call came in to one of our volunteers, prompting them to spring into action. In a matter of hours, the cat went from enduring starvation and the cold to having a comfortable shelter, a cozy bed, and plenty of nourishment.
Starla, as she was named, was immediately friendly and craved human interaction. Despite her hunger, she chose to seek affection from her foster mom instead of digging into the food in front of her.
“It appears she enjoys eating with company. She only showed interest in the food after checking in on her foster mom in between bites. She would eat while purring, showing her contentment,” shared Starla’s rescuer.
After a few bites, Starla would pause to nuzzle her foster mom, making sure she was close by. “This little darling is clearly thrilled to be safe and warm.”
The next day, Starla visited the veterinary clinic, where she received treatment for fleas and the necessary medical care. She behaved impeccably with the veterinary staff, as if she knew she was in good hands.

Watching Starla’s sweet and appreciative nature, it’s hard to imagine that just a week ago, she was wandering out in the cold. Starla’s love for all kinds of food is evident, as she eagerly enjoys every new dish she’s offered. She adores being close to her humans and never misses a chance for some affection, following them around like a faithful shadow. Whenever they show her love by petting her, she leans in and relaxes completely into their arms, relishing every moment of connection.

She is a small social butterfly who thrives on the company of her humans. When her foster mom petted her, she extended her paws and contentedly kneaded the air. With each stroke, her eyes grew heavier until she peacefully drifted off to sleep. “Her favorite pastime?
