Canines known as Tykes possess an unparalleled sense of dedication towards their human companions. Among these remarkable dogs is George, a Great Dane who has garnered worldwide recognition for his exemplary conduct and aid to his owner, Bella.
When Bella was just 11 years old, she crossed paths with George, who would later become her service dog. Bella has a rare condition, Morquio Syndrome, which affects her mobility. Her mother introduced them when she was volunteering with a provider dog project, and the two hit it off immediately. Ever since then, George has been by Bella’s side, providing her with comfort and helping her with daily tasks.
Bella emphasizes how much George means to her by highlighting his constant support whenever she needs him. She also notices that their connection is mutual, as George seems to rely on Bella just as much. This bond between them is unmistakable from the way George acts towards her.
The highly popular dog-focused website, BarkPost, acknowledged George’s exceptional service and gave him the prestigious “Dog’s Best Day” award. This award is meant to give a day full of fun to deserving dogs. As a result, videos featuring George and his fashionable companions rapidly gained popularity on social media.
Bella’s mother revealed that George has been a constant companion to Bella during her weekly enzyme replacement therapy sessions at Boston Children’s Hospital. He has also been there for her during two recent brief hospital stays. Bella’s mother expressed that George’s presence has been instrumental in boosting Bella’s confidence and making her feel like any regular kid, despite her medical condition.
Bella has a reconstructive foot surgery scheduled for October 14th, and George will accompany her. Along with providing comfort and aid, he has also instilled a feeling of inclusion and assurance in Bella.
