Wow, can you believe it? There’s been news that a lady from Bisbee, Arizona contacted Little Lotus Rescue and Sanctuary, a non-profit organization dedicated to saving dogs from being euthanized, because she found an abandoned dog on her land who seemed to be in bad shape. The woman mentioned that the dog was unable to walk and had been lying down in a ditch.
Upon arrival at the residence, the rescuers were met with intense heat, with temperatures exceeding 94 degrees. A dog had spent the entire day in a creek filled with water, attempting to cool off from the scorching heat. Despite being only a few feet away from a shed that could have provided some relief, the woman who lived there couldn’t explain why the dog was left there. Since the rescue, Little Lotus Rescue and Sanctuary has been providing frequent updates on the dog’s condition. The rescue team noted that the dog had long, unkempt nails, suggesting that it had been immobile for some time. Additionally, the dog was severely malnourished and dehydrated.
Unfortunately, the poor pooch is currently fighting for her life and her condition has been deemed critical. The results of her blood work revealed that she is suffering from both liver and kidney failure, as well as having a low count of red blood cells.
Fortunately, there is some positive development to report – the adorable dog had a night free of seizures on the sixth day. The rescue group is still cautious but optimistic, stating that they are not completely out of danger yet. However, they are hoping to uncover more information about the dog’s true medical condition prior to her unfortunate incident. Furthermore, the woman who discovered the dog as a stray will not face any charges of animal cruelty or neglect by the authorities.
