Cats with special needs are often unaware of their differences from other felines. Despite this, they can still exhibit the same liveliness, curiosity, and affection as any other cat. Moet the Blind Cat was born in the Sultanate of Oman and had an unfortunate start to life. She found herself in a lonely pet store, confined in a metal cage with other kittens. While her siblings were adopted one by one, she fell ill with cat flu and her condition worsened. Sadly, she was completely ignored and left alone. Fortunately, the Al Qurum Veterinary Clinic in Muscat, Oman found her and rescued her. Although they were unable to save her eyes due to serious infections, Moet did not let that stop her from enjoying life. Emily, a woman who fell in love with her at first sight, took Moet in and has provided her with a loving home since September of 2014. Despite her abusive past, Moet is now thriving and living her best life.
During my chat with Emily, I inquired about the charming feline, Moet, who never fails to light up anyone’s day with her contagious smile. When asked to describe Moet’s personality, Emily portrayed her as a cheerful and affectionate cat but with a tendency to get bored effortlessly. This could be due to her inability to sit still and observe her surroundings like other cats. To keep her entertained, Moet demands constant playtime and care, even though she is not one to sit calmly on your lap.
Do you know what sets Moet apart from other individuals? Well, for starters, Moet is a generous soul who donates the entire earnings from her online store and book sales to a local volunteer animal rescue group. All profits go straight to charity, making it a noble cause indeed. Besides her charitable work, many people who meet her in person are amazed by her abilities. In fact, some even question whether she is truly visually impaired or not! (To check out Moet’s online store, click here.)
Moreover, Moet is not alone in her abode as she shares it with another furry feline named Luna. Interestingly, Luna was also a rescue cat adopted by Al Qurum Veterinarians, the same vets who saved Moet’s life.
Wow, that coat is absolutely stunning! I can’t help but wonder if there’s anything extra we can do to help maintain her beauty? Upon asking, I discovered that she actually doesn’t require any assistance, but she loves it when her teeth are cleaned multiple times a day and when her hair is brushed regularly.
