We can take inspiration from the remarkable resilience of small animals like Dove, a delightful kitten who was born with a limb deformity. Despite this challenge, Dove remains steadfast and determined to thrive. She is part of a litter of five kittens, all born to a tabby cat.
Meet Dove, a precious little pup who was born with bowed front legs. This condition made it impossible for her to move around like other dogs. Unfortunately, Dove’s brothers didn’t understand her plight and often left her to eat last, causing her to miss out on vital nutrients needed for growth. Consequently, she wasn’t developing at the same pace as her siblings.
Dove and her littermates, as well as their mother, were brought to Oregon Friends Of Shelter Animals. They were quickly assigned to a foster home where Dove was able to stay with her mother named Angela.
Angela observed that Dove was unable to defend herself from her siblings during mealtime, so she took it upon herself to spend more quality time with her mother. This allowed Dove to finally eat without any interruptions or disturbances. As a result of this change in routine, the adorable cat began to put on weight and display her newfound vigor and vitality.
This adorable little creature turned out to be very sociable and enjoyed being held by their favorite person after receiving physical therapy. Additionally, Too was curious and eager to explore her surroundings like her siblings. Dove’s foster mother and Calliope were a great support system for the kitten, providing encouragement with their soothing purrs. As a devoted mother, Too is highly protective of her kittens. If separated from them, she will cry out until reunited. Angela noticed that Too prioritizes her kittens’ health, cleanliness, happiness, and nourishment.
Dove has made remarkable progress in her development. Her front limbs are now not only more aligned but also more robust, allowing her to move around, sprint, jump, and have fun just like any other feline.
According to Angela, it’s okay if it appears somewhat altered or distinct. She describes the girl as being lively and enjoying every moment of life.
