Wow, not only did this dog give birth to a whopping 18 puppies, but she also broke the world record for the largest litter ever! Typically, Dalmatian litters consist of 8 or 10 puppies, so this is truly remarkable. Usually, a dog’s first pregnancy yields fewer puppies than average, but clearly, this mama dog is an exception. Despite the hard work and dedication it takes to raise such a large litter, it’s all worth it. Plus, judging by the proud look on her face, this dog seems more than content with her accomplishment.
The content may remind you of the famous Disney movie, 101 Dalmatians, and it’s not just you. Miley and her pups are often compared to the dogs in the classic film. Expecting around 15-16 puppies based on her size during gestation, Miley’s breeders had their expectations set, similar to Pongo and Perdita in the movie. However, Miley and Astro exceeded those expectations with a record-breaking number of puppies. After 13 hours of labor, Miley gave birth to 18 adorable puppies, consisting of 12 females and 6 males. The little boys are outnumbered by the girls at a ratio of 2:1, which might affect their puppyhood.
