Lionel Messi Saves the Day for Inter Miami with Last-Minute Goal against LA Galaxy, Securing a Draw

Messi came through in the clutch, scoring a crucial goal in the 92nd minute to help lead Inter Miami to a close victory over the LA Galaxy in the second round of the US Professional Championship.

After a successful 2-0 victory against Real Salt Lake in their first MLS match, Inter Miami was feeling hopeful as they looked forward to their upcoming game against LA Galaxy. Unfortunately, things didn’t go as planned for the team.

They came close to escaping defeat when Messi equalized in the 92nd minute, securing a 1-1 draw for the team. Nevertheless, a tie on the LA Galaxy’s turf isn’t necessarily a bad result for David Beckham’s team.
The LA Galaxy, playing at home, entered the game with great enthusiasm. In the 11th minute, they were given a penalty kick after Busquets committed a foul on Paintsil inside the penalty box. Unfortunately, Riqui Puig was unable to beat goalkeeper Callender from the 11-meter spot.

During the match, LA Galaxy dominated their opponents, but Inter Miami’s goalie Callender put on an impressive performance, keeping a clean sheet in the first half. Despite Messi’s excellent play, he struggled to break through the opposing defense.

As the second half unfolded, LA Galaxy continued to outshine their rivals, finally scoring in the 75th minute thanks to a precise cross from Delgado to Joveljic. Inter Miami narrowly avoided further goals against them and even had a numerical advantage when Delgado received a second yellow card in the 87th minute.

Inter Miami, showing resilience, piled on the pressure in the final minutes, with Messi eventually scoring a crucial goal after a rebound from Alba to secure a 1-1 draw against LA Galaxy.

Inter Miami is currently leading the pack in the MLS Eastern standings, having accumulated four points from their first two games. Yet, there’s a chance they could slip down the rankings if the teams trailing behind them manage to play their matches later on.
